A successful pitch should explain the idea, describe the team and go into some detail on how the company will eventually make money.

My approach with these investments is to believe that the founders know both their business and their technology best and to not mess with either. That said, I am happy to get involved if you want me to and can provide support anywhere from helping with tricky pieces of code to establishing contacts for future funding rounds.
