Special Issue of "Mathematics and Computers in Simulation" (Elsevier) on:
High Performace Symbolic Computing
This volume will summarize the sessions on "Grand Challenges in Computer
Algebra" held at the 1997 IMACS
ACA conference in Maui, Hawaii, July 24-26 and "High Performance
Symbolic Computing" helt at the 1998
IMACS ACA conference in
Prague, Czech Republic, August 9-11. The issue will also contain some
additional papers.
Topics include:

Current, or possibly future, computer algebra applications
with large resource requirements.

Progress reports on stretching the limits of tractability
for a particular application.

New algorithms or software for achieving high performance
computations in computer algebra.
